5 Y ou can easily reach the North District of Shenandoah from Front Royal, Virginia, by leaving US 340 south of town and following the frequent signs to the park’s entrance. The park’s northern entrance station is less than a mile from US 340. 6 on Skyline Drive and is worth a stop. The visitor center is the starting point for several trails in this guide as well. One of the park’s first trails provides a commanding view of Massanutten Mountain and several of the various peaks composing the northern end of its range.
